"It's Only a Paper Moon" is a song that Nat King Cole, along with Oscar Moore and Wesley Prince recorded in their debut album The King Cole Trio.

The song was the first track of the album and was, from the very beginning, Cole's first huge hit song.


The song, written by Harold Arlen with lyrics by E. Y. Harburg and Billy Rose, was originally used for the musical The Great Magoo. The song was also used in the film Taking a Chance in 1933. The song has appeared in several films and television programs that follow as well.
